Reliving some great memories

I recently came across a great utility called DOSBox. It recreats the DOS environment of a 286/286/486 machine so that, if you like, you can run software from way way way back when. Installing this and firing up Leisure Suit Larry 1 transported me all the way back to when I was 14 and playing on my not so small 8086 machine with its monochrome monitor. Good Times.

Little Toothies

Daniel's weeks (months it seems) of drooling and continuously wanting to chew on something finally have something to show for them. Two iddy-biddy 'ittle wittle toofies have started to emerge from the lower gum. Hopefully this will mean the drool factory will cut down on production?

I should add that he's now in his third week of daycare and mom is back at work. It would seem that all parties are enjoying the new setup.

Relatively Stable

Saw the doc yesterday after having yet another CT-Scan. News remains good in that things have largely remained the same. So we continue with my medication regimen and repeat the process in 3 months.

Home Again

We're finally back in Chicago which is much warmer than we were expecting. A good thing too since our warm clothes which were packed in our suitcases are somewhere between Atlanta and Chicago having gone astray on our return trip. The return trip turned sour after getting through customs and immigration in Atlanta. The scheduled flight was cancelled due to mechanical reasons (someone deployed an emergency escape chute on an exit door). Our rebooked flight was delayed both prior to boarding and then again prior to take-off so much that they decided to screen a movie. Still happy to be home after the very long haul around the globe and very sad that our trip to SA has come to an end. Could have gone for three more weeks of the same.

The Final Few Hours

Can't believe we've arrived at the end of it. Just a few more hours in Sunny (drizzly) SA and then we board our 20 hour flight to Atlanta :(

Sunning in Ballito

Enjoying our stay in Sunny South Africa. Dad's wedding went off so well, we think it should be an annual event. The new year rolled around with lots of drink and even better, eating braai'ed shrimps straight from the pan. Now we found ourselves taking in too much sun and surf at Ballito. Could things get any better?
