Paternity Leave

Danny has reached the two week mark, and with that I've reach the end of my paternity leave. Today I returned to work, but it's not all bad news. I found out that our company offers five days of paid paternity leave (whereas I was under the mistaken impression it was only offered on an unpaid basis). Whooop-dee-doo! Looking forward to climbing on the train and getting forty winks before tending to the little one when I get home.

Now I'm sure there are a few of you thinking, "Who cares! Where are the pictures?" Hard to do when you're stuck at work. Will see what we can drum up tonight.

A Week and Counting

Last night, the grandparents came by and enjoyed their first real bonding moment with Danny (who has thus far managed to keep most of his alert time saved just for Inna and I).

Hard to believe a week has passed already (actually, a little more than that). To be quite honest, adjusting to having a little one in the house has been a lot easier than we anticipated (now I've probably gone and jinxed things). I guess this is really thanks to all of you and your ominous advice. One thing is for sure (and we were warned about this too), little Danny has become the center of our lives - and the joy he has brought with him is just indescribable. Having a child, although not to be entered into lightly, is something we can wholeheartedly recommend!

Daniel's Arrival in Photos

I know we've bombarded many of you with photo laidened emails. I do promise to stop doing this. If you are keen to see some of the pictures that didn't get into your inbox, take a look here.

Footprints

Danny's footprints at birth, as well as some other interesting info.

Our New Arrival

Daniel Mark McNally arrived on Wednesday, June 15th at 8:28am. Weighing in at 8 pounds and measuring 21.5 inches in length. We just arrived home today and are adjusting to our new schedule. Mom is doing very well, although she is suffering from a "spinal headache." Little Daniel appears to love his sleep (for the time being) and his food too.

C-Section

Looks like little Danny boy is going to have his birthday on June 15. The plan is set for a C-Section next Wednesday. This is going to be fun (I get to dress up in scrubs).

Boat No.9

Boat No.9 (Warwickshire, England)
Originally uploaded by kmcnally.

My brother, the budding photographer that he is, spends a great deal of time in his photo lab (kitchen) developing his prints. I was so impressed with these shots that I thought I would let his secret out (sorry Karl).

Playing with Frogs

My sister enjoyed playing with frogs when she was an ankle-biter. Being told that they were dirty, she decided to take them into the house one day and washed them in hot water (killing them) - but surely then, they wouldn't be dirty anymore? This, however, takes playing frogs to a whole new level.

Recovering from Boston

The great Honours reunion in Boston was had this weekend where most of those State-side responded to Lovan's invitation and turned up to reminisce about old times, talk about current events and argue about what makes a good wine. Walked a little bit of the Independence Trail, took in Harvard and skirted MIT while always on the lookout for a decent pub. Other things of note include chocolate, a man and his squash racquet, and some belly-dancing.
