The Big Move

After much delay, we are gearing up to make the big move this coming Saturday. Recent chats with the contractor confirm how all the work is coming to a close, although there will still be some minor items that require attention after our move. I'm besides myself with excitement even though we will still be waiting months for the furniture to start arriving.

Mari and I had been trying to make a trip to the Chicago Botanic gardens happen for months, since shortly after little Gabriel arrived into the world. Plans finally came together this late summer's day where we enjoyed a stroll as the sun went down.

After all the "behind-the-curve" stuff we've been hearing with regards Daniel's development, we were absolutely shocked when Daniel's teacher pulled us aside to tell us that she thinks he is gifted in the area of music. I don't know about this stuff, but we're gonna take whatever we can get. So thanks to the grandparents, Danny now has a little electronic piano to beat out some tunes. And boy does he send it when given the chance. Amusingly, when tone-deaf mommy tries to join in with some singing, he shushes her. I don't mean to brag, but he hasn't shushed me yet :-)
